Florida-based knifemaker Steve Jernigan made his first knife in 1952, and he’s been at it ever since. The Wakulla is a collaboration with Kizer featuring premium materials and a streamlined design. The blade, available in two styles, measures 3.5 inches long to tackle most tasks. It’s made from S35VN steel for impressive edge retention and corrosion resistance. To deploy it, you’ll need to open the knife manually by way of the dual thumbstuds. When open, it locks in place via frame lock, made from titanium for a strength. The handle is riddled with small pockets for grip. Jimping along the top helps secure it in the hand, too. Carry the knife with the right-handed tip-up clip, which is slim and short so as not to cover up too much of the handle.
