Will this work with the Drop ALT? The Mechcables FAQ outlines some known issues with powering the CTRL, ALT and SHIFT boards.

They work with all of the Drop boards that we have in-house (ALT, CTRL, SHIFT) but there are always edge cases although they are uncommon (it is worth noting that we get way less customer support emails about power issues since switching the wire gauge to 26AWG from 28AWG)

mechcablesThanks for the response. I had thought these ones may have been made specifically for Drop. I have the Standard Size 550 Cable Samurai Aviator direct from Mechcables, the cable looks great, and I want to use it with the Red Samurai keycaps, but my ALT occasionally flickers, turns off and on, and randomly dims when using it. I've tried using different ports on the motherboard, as well as a powered USB-hub, but nothing has fixed the issue. The board works perfectly with the cables that came with the keyboard and I would like to get the Blue version on Drop for another board I am building. Any further trouble-shooting suggestions on what may be behind the issue and how to fix it would be welcome. I can also send through a message to support on Mechcables if preferred.

HuitzilihuitlShoot us an email (contact@mechcables.com) and we can figure out a solution (e.g. replacing it, shortening the cable, switching to jumbo size, etc.)

HuitzilihuitlMechcables were very responsive on this via email. The two standard cables similar to this one that I have work on my two non-Drop keyboards with zero problems. I have ended up with a Jumbo-sized version of this cable that works great through a powered USB-hub for my two Drop ALTs and Drop Carina. The cables look good and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them, but I will get in contact first to get advice on cable length and gauge as my preference is to not use a hub.

Is the preorder my only chance ro buy it or will it be sold later as a standalone product like the keycaps

I can't answer that definitively but drops that sell many units have a higher likelihood of being offered again.

I use this cable with Drop Paragon Series shogun Keyboard, I use it only twice, Now, It failed to connect PC. shogun keyboard works with included cable. Is there any to fix this cable?

Never mind. Only my laptop can't connect with this cable. The other laptop works find.

Will this be coming out with a USB mini connection as well? Looks great but I don't want to attach extra adapters to make it work.
